Bee Frontier vs. Memoket Gem: What Apple Watch Owners Should Know

Both are wearable personal agents. We make Memoket Gem. We'll tell you clearly when Bee Frontier is the better choice.
Bee Frontier is a $74.99 wearable personal agent that hit #1 Best Seller on Amazon in four days. If you wear an Apple Watch, there is one thing about it you need to know before you buy.
What happens to your Apple Watch?
Bee Frontier is a wristband. A good-looking one, with a 7-day battery, IP67 water resistance, and a price that makes the Memoket Gem look expensive. But it is designed to live on your wrist as a standalone device.
If you already wear an Apple Watch, that creates a problem Bee's product page doesn't address: you now have two devices competing for the same wrist.
Switch wrists. Move your Apple Watch to the non-dominant hand and wear Bee on the dominant one. Doable, but your Apple Watch is calibrated and set up for one wrist, your notifications go to the wrong arm, and Apple Pay stops working the way you expect.
Use the clip. Bee Frontier also works clipped to a lapel or collar. This works fine, but it changes the whole nature of the product. You bought a wristband and you're wearing a clip.
Take your Apple Watch off when you need to record. Most meetings don't last all day. This is what most Bee buyers with Apple Watches will probably do.
None of these are unreasonable. But they are trade-offs, and they are worth knowing about before you spend $74.99.
This is exactly why we built co-wear

The Memoket Gem ships with a co-wear band. Your Apple Watch slides into it. The Gem sits alongside the watch face, flush against your wrist. You keep everything your Apple Watch does: heart rate, notifications, Apple Pay, your watch face. The Gem just records.
In co-wear mode, the Gem doesn't look like a recording device. It looks like a normal watch with a slightly thicker band. The red recording LED is visible, but people are used to the red light from cameras and other recording devices. Once you announce you're recording, it disappears into the background.
We built co-wear for a specific reason: most people who want an AI recorder already have a device on their wrist they depend on. We didn't want them to have to choose.
The Gem doesn't lock you into one mode
The Gem ships with everything you need for four different wearing configurations. You buy one device, not four.

Gem sits alongside your Apple Watch in a shared band. Your watch keeps doing everything it does.
Looks like a fitness tracker. Designed so the red recording light is visible, but the device blends in.
Clip to a jacket, shirt, or collar when you don't want anything on your wrist.
Wear around your neck. Useful for situations where wrist recording feels too conspicuous.
Bee Frontier offers wristband and clip. Both are good options. Four modes just gives you more flexibility as your use cases change.
Where Bee Frontier still wins, even for Apple Watch owners
Co-wear is a real advantage. It is not the only thing that matters.
Price: $74.99 vs $199 bundle. Bee is less than half the cost.
Water resistance: IP67 (submersible) vs IPX5 (splash-resistant). Bee wins if you swim or work in wet environments.
Battery life: 7-day standby vs 20 hours continuous recording. Bee charges less often.
Amazon ecosystem: Alexa+ on the Pro tier. If you use Alexa, that integrates naturally.
Co-wear: Apple Watch stays on your wrist, doing everything it does.
Four wearing modes: One device, more situations.
Source audio: Bee deletes the audio after processing. Gem keeps the original recording so you can replay, re-transcribe, or export it.
Languages: 153 vs 40+. More useful if you're in multilingual environments.
Gem Pro bundle + subscription runs about $298.96. Bee Frontier device + Pro subscription runs about $174.98. The Gem costs roughly $124 more in year one. Co-wear has to be worth that to you personally.
Recording in public without making it weird
People who wear Apple Watches tend to be in professional environments, meetings, and conversations where subtlety matters.
The Gem has a red LED that activates during recording. This is intentional. We designed it so everyone in the conversation can see it. The LED is familiar: people recognize the red light from cameras, dashcams, microphones. Once you announce you're recording, the light does the ongoing consent work for you.
In co-wear mode, the Gem sits close to your Apple Watch face. It doesn't look like a standalone recording device. The wristband mode is designed to read as a fitness band. The combination of familiar form factor and visible LED tends to make conversations feel less surveilled than a phone sitting on the table.
Bee Frontier takes a different approach. Their philosophy is confidential by design: audio is deleted after processing, nothing is stored. If privacy is the priority, Bee's approach has real merit. If professional accountability and replayable source audio matter more to you, Gem keeps the original recording.
